From StructuralWiki
Jump to: navigation, search

A large, threaded, square-headed bolt with the head spread out on the underside. These screw spikes are used in place of the ordinary track spike, especially on bridges. A hole is first bored in the tie at the right point and then the spike is screwed into place.
