Hooke's law

From StructuralWiki
Jump to: navigation, search

This law states that the deformation of an elastic body is proportional to the force applied, or that the intensity of stress is proportional to the rate of strain.

\frac{dp}{dl} = E

where

dp = the differential intensity of stress

dl = the differential rate of strain

E = the constant of Elasticity (Young's Modulus) N/mm2
