Dynamics notation

The following notation is used throughout the dynamics topics:

• <tex>c</tex> ... damping coefficient (kN-sec/m)
• <tex>c_c</tex> ... critical damping coefficient (kN-sec/m)
• <tex>m</tex> ... mass (kg)
• <tex>\xi</tex> ... critical damping ratio (unitless)
• <tex>\omega</tex> ... undamped natural circular frequencies (rad/sec)
• <tex>\omega_D</tex> ... free-vibration frequency of damped system (rad/sec)
