Pantograph

An instrument for the mechanical copying of engravings, diagrams, plans, etc., either to an enlarged or to a reduced scale. It consists essentially of four sticks pivoted so as to form a parallelogram with a fixed pivot at one end of the group, a tracing point at the other end, and a pencil at the intermediate apex.
