EC 3 - Steel
Overview
Related Software
  1. Advance Design - Advance Design was specifically developed for industry professionals that require a superior solution for the structural analysis and design of Reinforced Concrete and Steel structures. Advance Design features include easy modeling, a powerful FEM analysis engine, top-level design wizards, automated post-processing of results and automated reports.
  2. Advance Steel - Advance Steel was specifically developed for industry professionals that require a comprehensive and completely integrated package in AutoCAD. Advance Steel automates the entire structural CAD process (fabrication, erection drawings, various reports) and creates NC fabrication data in AutoCAD.
  3. Analysis for Windows - Finite Element Analysis package for 2D and 3D constructions (frames and trusses). Small and easy to use, with special focus on the user friendly Windows interface. Includes structural steel design, namely: recommendation of the best cross-section; plastic and elastic design according to Eurocode 3. Each cross-section is tested for: plastic tension or compression; bending moment (major and minor axis); plastic shear resistance; torsion (Saint Venant and warping torsion); reduced plastic shear resistance for the case of combined torsion and shear; reduced moment resistance for the case of combined bending and shear; reduced plastic moment resistance for the case of combined bending and axial force or bi-axial bending; compression buckling; lateral torsional buckling; combined bending and axial compression (Chen and Atsuta); maximum deflection. Large library of commonly used sections included (AISC, British Steel, DIN, Euronorm). Construction or structural drawings can be imported from, or exported to, AutoCAD.
  4. CivilFEM - Civil/Structural customization of the ANSYS Finite Element program.
  5. Column Base - Calculates capacity and stiffness of a connection between steel column and its concrete foundation. Both rolled and welded column sections can be investigated. Handles both embedded connections and connections made using base plate. Determines connection rigidity and performs rigidity classification (rigid joint, semi-rigid joint, or hinge).
  6. Connection Study Environment (CSE) - CSE is a software program dealing with steel connections. The main innovation of CSE is that is can be used to design connections freely placing components, and, afterwards, check them. The program offers a wide coverage of issues regarding steel connections: it uses automatic internal rules, user-defined rules, and is also able to create automatically fem models of components (members with their workings, plates, cross-section trunks, angles, double-angles and more). CSE is the result of a research dating since 1999. The main aim of CSE is not drawing or detailing, but checking connections. It does not use "kitchen-recipes" to allow a limited number of connections, but lets the user build up their connections freely. A number of tutorials for various connections types is available with the program.
  7. FEEA 2010 SDK - Anaxsoft™ FEEA™ 2010 SDK is a comprehensive finite elements engine created specifically for the .NET Framework. It is a unique and robust system, with component-oriented architecture and small footprint, that integrates powerful structural analysis capabilities into any .NET application. FEEA™ 2010 SDK includes everything developers and engineers need to write, build, test and deploy .NET applications that depend on finite element analysis., Finite Element Analysis SDK for the .NET Framework. Use FEEA SDK to create the new generation of 32/64-bit scientific/technical .NET applications for the Windows platform.
  8. quickEC3 - Training tool for EN 1993-1-1 (EC3), quikEC3 is useful electronic blue book which can calculate properties, section classifications and structural capacities for a wide range of section shapes, using EC3 terminology. A database of all major worldwide steel sections is included but custom tables are easily built for non-standard sections. In addition, the program calculates the following: section classifications for axial, y bending, z bending (for non-symmetrical sections, classification is carried out for either top, bottom, left or right of section in compression depending upon section orientation). Calculation of effective section properties for class4 (slender) sections including any shift in neutral axis. Section capacity checks: axial tension, axial compression, moment, low shear, high shear, moment and shear, moment with axial, moment axial and shear for both Y and Z axis bending. Class 1, 2, 3 and 4 (slender) sections are covered. Combined axial, X moment and Y moment capacity checks.
  9. SAP2000 - Integrated software for structural analysis and design.
  10. Sofistik - FEA and CAD software for civil and structural engineering modeling, analysis, design, and detailing. SOFiSTiK is one of the most complete FE packages and covers almost all structural engineering disciplines: building, bridges, foundation, tunneling, membranes, lightweight, dynamics. Design code checks can be performed for 18 international codes.

FEA suite (SOFiSTiK) includes the following programs: Sofistik Structural Desktop - SSD (main user interface that helps the user control various modules), CADINP (text editor and script language to define parametric input), SOFIPLUS (standard pre-processor based on AutoCAD), ASE (3D finite element analysis), STAR (3D frame analysis), SlabDesigner PRO (analysis of slabs, walls, frames and grillages), TALPA (linear and nonlinear plain strain/stress analysis), HASE (soil-structure interaction), PFAHL (analysis of pile foundations), HYDRA (analysis of potential problems), PHYSICA (multiphysical code for computation fluid dynamics that can be used for dynamic wind analysis of bridges and buildings).
