    SEGAN: Analysis of Curved Segmentally Erected Prestressed Concrete Box Girder Bridges

    This program permits the analysis of curved segmentally erected prestressed concrete box girder bridges, including time dependent effects, so that deflections and stresses can be computed at any stage during the construction or service life of the bridge. The segments can be either precast or cast in place. The bridge cross section must consist of a single box section with vertical or inclined webs and have cantilever flanges. Width and depth dimensions can vary along the bridge span. Time-dependent material changes, such as creep and shrinkage of concrete, as well as environmental effects such as humidity and temperature changes, are accounted for. However, other concrete material nonlinearities such as cracking or inelastic behavior and geometric nonlinearities are not included in the analysis. Prestressing in the longitudinal direction can be included in the analysis. Tendons can be located in either the webs or flanges and can have a linear or parabolic profile. Stressing and release operations, slip in of tendons, and restressing and removal of tendons are included. A procedure is included for specifying the structural configuration and the erection sequence. Operations used in segmental construction, such as addition of segments, prestressing, changing of support boundary conditions, application or removal of construction loads, and prescribed displacements can be analysed. At each construction stage, the current structure is analyzed and the incremental and total displacements, stresses, and strains are obtained. The complete structure can also be analyzed for a variety of live loads and time steps.
  • Sigma-X Post Tension Bridge - Software for analysis of a stage construction processes during the fabrication of a post tensioned bridge. Sigma-X Post Tension Bridge accounts for differential creep, differential shrinkage, losses due to anchorage, secondary moments, temporary and permanent (bonded, unbonded, internal or external) tendons for each segment over all stages of construction. Offers multiple cross section options directly from Sigma-X Section software which is fully integrated within it.
  • Tango - Program for the analysis of bridges that takes into account the actual procedure of bridge construction. Tango can analyze the following types of bridges: (1) steel bridges; (2) concrete post-tensioned segmental bridges; (3) concrete composite bridges - precast girders with cast-in-place deck; (4) steel/concrete composite bridges; (5) cable-stayed bridges. Tango can analyze the following construction sequences: (1) cantilever construction - cast-in-place or precast; (2) incremental launching; (3) cable-stayed; (4) span-by-span erection; (5) precast girder and deck as composite. Developed by Dr. Man-Chung Tang, who pioneered in many sound and innovative techniques in the design and construction of bridges.
