Pulley

A wheel over which a belt, chain, or rope passes; used to transmit motion or to deflect such belt, chain, or rope from one course to another. The face may be flat, crowned, conical, or grooved. Also applied to a combination of sheaves, or grooved pulleys, and the shell or framework containing them. Also called pulley block. See block.
